No, No, Simon

Lately, when we take the boys shopping, they've been wanting to tear into the things we're buying before we get to the register. Because of this, I've been trying to explain the importance of paying for things before we use them. One day, on the way home from the store, we were listening to a kids CD that some friends of ours gave us (thanks, Buddy Dom!). It has the Simple Simon nursery rhyme on it. If you're not familiar with it, the version on the CD goes as follows:

Simple Simon met a pieman
going to the fair.
Said Simple Simon to the pieman,
"Let me taste your ware."

Said the man to Simple Simon,
"Do you mean to pay?"
Said Simon, "Yes of course I do."
And then he ran away.

They were talking about Simon, and what he did ("Simon did?"), and I told them that he ran away without paying. I said just like we talked about, Simon should have paid for his goodies. Apparently they took it to heart because now every time we hear this song, after the part that says Simon ran away, they say "No, no, Simon. Do not run away. You have to pay for goodies." It cracks me up! It's nice to know they listen!!

On a separate note, here are the studs playing with some crazy old glasses they found in Daddy's bedside table the other night.
