We had an amazing experience today. The boys were trying to catch a lizard, so we were following it from bush to bush. One of the bushes it ran into was rustling a lot more than you'd expect to come from one lizard, and pretty soon a little bird flew out. Mark noticed a nest in the bush, and then the cutest little beaks popping out of the nest wide open, waiting for lunch. It was so cool! We didn't stay long because we didn't want to scare the bird family, but I snuck back later and was lucky enough to catch them during feeding time again...what an awesome thing for us all to get to see!
We explained to the boys how baby birds eat, and they were appalled! Ewwww! They're excited to tell their class all about it tomorrow.
