I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween! Thankfully, we did. It started out a little sketchy with some less-than-stellar naps, but once we got going the boys had a great time. At first we had to hold the boys back from trying to enter the poor, unsuspecting people's houses, but after a couple houses, it clicked that they were supposed to just stand on the porch.
We really only had one glitch in the evening. One of the houses we visited was answered by a bunch of kids wearing masks, which thoroughly traumatized the kids. We attempted some damage control by calling them silly monsters, and trying to lighten things up. We let them know it was just make-believe, and that even though they looked scary, they were very nice monsters who gave us candy. They were a little hesitant at the next few houses saying "no more monsters," but got back into the grove quickly (although they continued to talk about the monsters for a while after). Luckily, they seem to have forgotten about the monsters, and there were no nightmares last night!
Due to the not-long-enough-nap-crankies, we had trouble getting any good pictures, but I'll post what I got tomorrow. In the meantime, here's a little video of our Halloween fun!
Some things to keep a lookout for:
-Tigger
-Lingering at the candy bowl in hopes of being offered more...this worked most of the time until mean mommy enforced the only-one-rule
-Attempts at B&E when people didn't answer the door in a timely manner
-A dirty man (not what it sounds like!)
-Jack thanking a helicopter that flew overhead for the candy
-Love from Minnie Mouse
-A shout-out to our Auntie Tracey who sadly couldn't make it at the last minute due to a case of pink-eye - sorry, Auntie!
-A lollipop cheers to finish the night
Some things to ignore:
-My poor camera work
-The black circles under the boys' eyes
-My incessant nagging
Enjoy!
